EP102 – Dead Sushi (2012) feat. Bad Movies Worse People Podcast

Pete dodged a bullet with this one as his friendship with Kathleen would surely have ended since there is a scene midway through the film that caused us all to gag. Seriously, I challenge you NOT to throw up a little in your mouth after this scene.

We don’t get to have guests very often and we get the delight to host the maniacs at Bad Movies Worse People Podcast. They were kind enough to send us a beer from a local brewery in Arizona.

Pete continues his dominance over the Six-Minute Synopsis .

EP101 – The Happening (2008)

What is happening? - Marky Mark from The Happening (2008)

Troy tests the friendship of the entire crew as he brings the movie that has confounded him for years to the podcast. M. Night Shyamalan’s 2008 horror, The Happening.

Listen to Pete, Troy, Dave and Kathleen struggle to find the meaning in a meaningless film. Wild speculations will be floated. Theories will be offered. Nothing will help to explain this film. God Help Us All.

FULL-KEG EPISODE 100 – Conan versus Conan

This is what happens when you only release one episode a month, it takes 8 years to hit 100 episodes. No complaints on our side, we give you what we got and we’ve done it longer than most. Trying to remember shit that’s happened over the last eight years is a challenge, especially to Pete, who is a big dummy on the best of days. Please forgive all the memory gaps if we said something wrong or just plain forogt. We love all of you and humble ask for your forgiveness.

We normally like to keep episodes to 90ish minutes but with the 8 year / 100 episodes celebration, we knew it was going to be a big one. Breaking it up into two episodes felt like serving you only half a beer and that just didn’t sit right with the alcoholics in the room. Don’t miss the chaotic out takes at the end.

One of the questions that we were asked was what kind of equipment we use. This is what we use today and we love the ability of having 4 separate tracks. We were able to get everything off Amazon minus Mic stands and XLR cables which I was able to pick up at a used music store for way less than buying new.
Recorder: Zoom PodTrak P4
Microphones: Behringer XM8500
Go back to episode 64 if you want to understand just why the hell we keep yelling “FOR NANA!” Miss you, Jeff.

EP099 – Fantastic Four (1994)

Episode 99 is a doozie. Some might call it a wet fart…well…everyone but Pete calls it a wet fart. To celebrate the new Fantastic Four movie we dive into the unreleased 1994 version made by the great Roger Corman. Why was it unreleased? Why did we watch it? Why is Pete still allowed to pick movies? All these questions and more may or may not be answered in this episode.

Pat Daily is sadly no longer with us but he lives on in our memories. Hazy alcohol fueled Put-in-Bay memories but memories still the same. This is the song we reference every show when Pete get’s it right. Just How Drunk are we Gonna Get?

We continually reference Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s The Fantastic Four and the entire cast is in agreement that this documentary is way more entertaining than the film.

EP098 – King Solomon’s Mines – (1985)

GBBMN joins forces with Give Me Back My Action and Horror Movies for THE MONTH OF ACTION and Pete picked a movie that he will regret for years to come. King Solomon’s Mines was admittedly a childhood favorite but through adult eyes is one of the most stomach turning racist and misogynistic we have ever covered on this show. Boy do we suffer for Pete’s decision.

EP090 – Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)

For the first time in my life, alcohol has failed me. That’s not really true but the first time I watched BHC I was three margaritas in and it hit that funny bone just right. Did the movie hold up to a more sober mindset? Tune in and see…or hear…whatever. You know what I mean.

Pete’s musical hero, Pat Daily, would be proud (maybe?) of the rendition of “Tell Them You’re From Ohio (Key West version)” off his album “Live and Kickin’.” Pat is no longer with us but my memories and his music will live on inside me forever. I dearly miss that man.

EP086 – Twister (1996)

WOW! Troy REALLY hates this movie and he makes a great argument for his vitriol. Pete says this is a kaiju movie as argues the tornado has some sort of sentience. Dave’s wife Donna joins us for a rollercoaster conversation not to be missed.

EP075 – Speed 2 (1997) with Give Me Back My Action Movies

Charlie and Nate from Give Me Back My Action and Horror Movies join us. Pete and Troy have been moonlighting over on their podcast and we finally got them on our show. Six podcast hosts = chaos. Enjoy.

We got a fun Millie report from Kathleen. She’s always good for a great laugh.

I need everyone to find your best Twister movie memes and start sending them to Troy. It’s a trigger for him and since I doubt he will read this it’ll be a great joke. Troy HATES Twister and about 20 minutes into the recording he bonks his computer when Dave mention the film causing Troy’s recording to stop. We got it back up and running but there’s a hard cut.

Charlie visited Katbird’s Wine and Gourmet Shoppe in Abington, Va to pick up his beer since Pete is a dumbass. If you’re in the area check them out.

Nate has been described as having boarder collie energy. You be the judge.

Featured beer:
I have to give Charlie credit for coining the phrase, “Not all the movies are bad and not every beer is good.” This month is a great example of how true a statement can be. Nate hated one of my most favorite beers ever which just proves “you like what you like” and I’m not here to tell you that you’re wrong.

EP074 – Crabs! (2022)

It’s July and we dive into an amazing independent film written and directed by Pierce Berolzheimer; CRABS! This is a huge recommend so go buy yourself a copy.

This episode descended into madness rather quickly at the end. Clearly it’s the beer’s fault.

Super Fan Jen was joining us from out of town and off mic, except when she wanted to participate which the mic never really caught well enough to hear her comments. Thanks, Jen, for making this one of the most difficult episodes to edit. You’re on the list.

Featured Beer:
– Great Lakes Brewing Company: Ruby’s Revenge
– Columbus Brewing Company: Summer Teeth

Here’s some light reading for those of you interested in knowing more about the Kellerbier lager style.

Chekhov’s Blunt is a new thing that will be added to the show in a similar fashion as “For NANNA!.” Stick around for the outtakes.
